Pasture Raised Eggs
We produce pasture raised eggs using heritage breed laying hens from Townline Hatchery in Zeeland Michigan. Our current flock includes Black Australorp, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, Amberlink, and Americana hens. We feed them certified organic feed from Raub-Rae Farm in Brown City Michigan. Hens are moved daily during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. They enjoy eating fresh grass, and bugs in their temporary electric fence enclosure while protected from predators. In the winter the hens enjoy the protection of their coop with a humane 3.5 sq-ft per bird and access to their covered run. Eggs are gathered daily, washed and packaged up in our custom labeled cartons with the gathered on date prominently displayed.
Pasture Raised Poultry
We raise Jumbo Cornish Rock Cross meat birds from Townline Hatchery in Zeeland Michigan. We feed them certified organic feed from Raub-Rae Farm in Brown City Michigan. The birds live in a “chicken tractor” and move to fresh grass every morning. They grow for 7-8 weeks and are butchered at around 5lbs dressed weight. Birds are sold as whole chickens or for an additional fee can be purchased cut up and packaged into parts and pieces.
Pasture Raised Pork
We raise heritage breed Large Black pigs on pasture seasonally from May to October. We feed them certified organic feed from Raub-Rae Farm in Brown City Michigan. The pigs are moved to new paddocks weekly ensuring they have clean ground to rut around in and to cycle nutrients into the pasture.
